Privacy Policy

Aligned Equine Social Manager ("the App," "we," "us") is a private, internal tool operated by Aligned Equine to publish our own video content to our own social media accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok). This policy explains what data the App handles and how.

Who can use the App

Access is limited to authorized Aligned Equine team members invited by an administrator. The App is not offered to the general public and does not post on behalf of third parties.

Information we collect

• Team account data — your name and email address, used to sign you in and to email one-time verification codes and system-generated passwords.
• Content you upload — videos, titles, descriptions, captions, hashtags, and scheduling details you create to publish to our social accounts.
• Connected-account credentials — OAuth tokens for the Aligned Equine social accounts the App is authorized to post to. These are stored encrypted and used only to publish and to record post results.
• Operational logs — timestamps and status of uploads, transcodes, and posts.

How we use it

• To transcode, schedule, and publish Aligned Equine's content to the social platforms you select.
• To authenticate team members (email + password + emailed verification code).
• To display post status and links back to the published content.

Third-party platforms

When you publish, content and the necessary metadata are sent to the platform(s) you choose — Google (YouTube), Meta (Facebook, Instagram), and TikTok — and are then governed by their respective privacy policies and terms. We also use Google services (Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Sheets) to store source videos, send email, and log activity. We do not sell personal data.

TikTok data handling

When a team member connects our TikTok account (@aligned.equine), the App uses TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API under the following scopes:

• user.info.basic — we request the connected creator's public profile basics (nickname and avatar) solely to display them on the "Export to TikTok" screen so the team member can confirm which account they are about to post to. We do not read your TikTok videos, followers, comments, likes, or any other profile content.
• video.publish — we call TikTok's creator_info endpoint to show the account's current posting options (allowed privacy levels and whether comment/duet/stitch are enabled), and we upload the video and caption the team member composed, using the privacy and interaction settings they explicitly select, via /v2/post/publish/video/init/ (chunked file upload). The App posts only to our own @aligned.equine account and never on behalf of other users.
• video.upload — as an alternative to Direct Post, we upload the video to our account's TikTok inbox as a private draft, which the owner then finishes posting from within the TikTok app. Only our own @aligned.equine account is used.

The video file and caption are transferred directly to TikTok for publishing; once published they are governed by TikTok's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not sell, share, or use TikTok data for advertising, profiling, or training any model. The creator nickname/avatar fetched for display are not persisted beyond the active session; only the OAuth token (encrypted) and post status/links are retained, and the token can be revoked at any time in your TikTok account settings or by emailing us (see below). Our use of TikTok data complies with the TikTok Developer Terms.

Data retention & deletion

We retain content and logs only as long as needed to operate the App. You can delete saved videos yourself at any time from the Gallery, where each video has a Delete button that permanently removes the stored file (videos still attached to a post must be removed from the post first). To request access to, or deletion of, other data associated with your account, email alignedeq@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.

Security

The App is served over HTTPS, gated behind per-user authentication with email-based multi-factor verification, and stores connected-account credentials encrypted at rest.
